Sample diet for irritable bowel symptom?
Does anyone have a sample diet for irritable bowel symptom?
I think that I may have IBS and I'm trying to learn more about it right now. Any help would be appreciated!

I realize this is an old post, but just in case someone else happens by I will leave my 2 cents.
My son has IBS I believe. He has had blood in the stool. A colonoscopy showed nothing major so that was a relief. He has had this off and on for a year. He finally agreed to dietary changes, and started eliminating gluten and casein from his diet. He has seen a huge improvement. When he makes the choice to go off the "diet" he once again has proof that he needs to be on it.
I hope this helps. I am not sure the doctors even know how to treat this.
My research has shown that making the intestinal tract as healthy as possible is the first line of defense.
He is also taking Natren Probiotics, and a good fish oil.

Hi, first of all, to really get to the bottom of it(no advice intended, this is what I would do if I were dealing with a possible IBS situation) I would get on a super strong SBO product like Garden of Life's Primal Defense. I think an alkaline diet is always best(as acid forming foods are caustic and harmful to the gut), combined with a mild cleansing approach to remove negative bacteria while implanting with loads of good bacteria.
