Re: Beginning my Colonix Treatment - mark - 08May08

Well - a box came in a week with everything and it's been a couple of days - but I started this morning.  It's says if you are not very healthy to leave out a few things for the first month...... while I am not very healthy I decided to do it try it all.

So I started.... and about an hour after I drank the fiber (which I drank quickly with water - and it was fine) I felt some gas and the need to go to the bathroom.  I only ended up passing a small amount of loose movement.  I had no breakfast but nibbled on some roasted chicken.  A few hours later I had the Toxinout and some more chicken.  Early dinner, Salad and chicken with the DetoxiGreen.

I felt some mild cramps throughout the day.  Soon I'll take the Flora, have the tea and go to bed.  Easy first day.

Re: Beginning my Colonix Treatment - mark - 08May08

Weight 220 lbs.

It's the middle of the second day.

The Tea last night was nice..... I put in a few drops of Stevia.

Slept normal.  Woke up a bit early and had to move my bowels - but just a little loose movement.  No rubber chickens.

I went with 3/4 scoop of fiber.  Everything is fine.  Skipped breakfast.  Had a big lunch.  Meatballs, chicken cutlet, broccoli, brown rice and spinach - bascially cleaned out the refrig.

Re: Beginning my Colonix Treatment - mark - 08May08

So I felt tired all evening.  I ate a bunch, cashews, cheese sticks, bonbon chicken, rice, watercress and a roll.  Popcorn and movie with the kids.

I have been eating better and less - which is  probably why I was so tired.

Oh, last night and tonight - I let the tea soak for about 10 minutes.

Today I woke up and felt good.

Weight: 218

Bowl movement more normal - just a little loose and fibery.

I went with the full scoop.  Had Ham and Eggs.

Twelve noon - had a protein shake.  I really do not feel like eating.

Re: Beginning my Colonix Treatment - mark - 08May08

Congratulations on a successful start with the program!

My husband and I also found ourselves eating better and less, too. Didn't have the same cravings for sugar and filled up on less. Even two years later we find we can't eat certain processed foods anymore...it just tastes awful to us.

We did experience some flu-like symptoms during the three-months but also had more energy and woke up earlier, too. Wish you continued success! smile

Re: Beginning my Colonix Treatment - mark - 08May08

Well I was plotting along and feeling good.  So good, I got carried away on a trampoline and blew out two disks.  So, I'm basically on my back for the next week or two..... in pain.

I'll be back.

Re: Beginning my Colonix Treatment - mark - 08May08

Tuesday June 10.

I'm back - so far so good.  I started this morning and it 2pm now.  So far I have only eaten a few handfuls of raw nuts.  I'll need something more for dinner.  I'll weigh myself tomorrow.  For those interested in the slipped disk here is a quick run down........

My L4/5 disk are both bulging and pressing on my sciatic nerve.  I believe I am pretty text book.  I have had pain shooting from my lower back all the way down my left leg.  My leg muscles (besides the somewhat entertaining spasms) seem useless.  I was on a cocktail of anti-inflammatory and pain killers.  Last Friday, they gave me a lumbar epidural steroid shot - which seems to have helped a lot.  So, now I am basically off the meds and been forcing myself to walk - which I can do slowly.  Sitting is still painful - but I was told the steroids could take a week or two to take full effect.

I was a bit down....... it's really amazing how quickly you (me) can screw yourself up.  Anyway, I've decided I am going to commit myself 100% to becoming as healthy as possible.  For the next few weeks, I plan to lose weight, strengthen my leg and stretch.

Re: Beginning my Colonix Treatment - mark - 08May08

Wed June 11 - Second day

Weight: 213

Well yesterday, I munched on some roasted chicken in the afternoon and then for dinner I had chicken cutlet, string beans and brown rice.  I let the tea sit for 10 minutes and had 1.5 cups.

I woke up this morning, felt as if I had some gas but quickly realized it was something more.  So I went to the bathroom and had a pretty normal BM.  I'm sure I could have gone a bit more but the slipped disk still makes it a bit painful to sit.

So my weight is down to 213.  I believe it's a combo of fat and muscle loss (for the past week or two I have basically been on my back).  I need to keep going down (which I will).

I took the morning pills and drank the fiber (full scoop).  I definitely plan on getting some generic fiber to drink in the morning when I am done with this program - as I hope it satisfies my appetite as this program seems to be doing.

Slipped disk update:
I must have gotten out of bed ten times to practice walking which typically is preceded and followed with stretching and massage.  It amazing how the muscles feel so bruised and useless – I’d like to understand why this is.  My upper leg seems to be doing better than my lower leg – this could just be the steroids working there way down my leg.  I sat for dinner for about ten minutes and then it just got to painful.  I had to cancel a dinner reservation at/with Yasuda last night – but it was the right thing to do.  Hopefully I can see the Little Mermaid with my family this Friday night.

Re: Beginning my Colonix Treatment - mark - 08May08

Thurs June 12 - 3rd day

Weight: 214

It’s about 2pm and I find myself falling into a nice routine.

I seem to wake up at 7am, have a normal BM, take the two pills, wait 15 minutes and drink a scoop of fiber (just with water).

Then I start to work.

After an hour or two I get a bit hungry and eat about 1/3 of a cup of raw nuts (almonds and cashews) while I’m working.  I always seem to sip water throughout the day.

At about 2pm, (now) I get hungry (and also remember to post).  So, I take two of the other pills and have a bite.  I try to avoid carbs.  Yesterday, I had a turkey meatball (just one little meatball) and then I was not hungry until dinner.  I take the green pills during dinner.  Yesterday dinner was a slice of pizza, a few ounces of pasta and some more meatballs.  A few hours later, I took the other 2 pills and drank 2 cups of the tea which I let steep for 15 MINUTES!

Anyway, I just had a few phone calls so now it’s 2:40, I’m taking the two pills and it looks like there a few turkey meatballs left – so I’ll eat one.  I need to get some lettuce.

Slipped Disk Update:
Every day it gets better.  Yesterday I pushed myself and made my way up to my club for some aqua therapy.  It’s only about a ¼ mile walk total but the club was mayhem.  Private schools are out and every Mom was there with their kids – After an ice tea at the bar and 20 minutes of standing, I was not finding a lounge chair.  So I took a steam, massaged the leg and then let cold water pound my leg for 5 minutes.  The leg feels better/stronger but the back feels slightly strained – so no journeys today.  Tomorrow I have a ¾ walk to my daughters’ school for her birthday cupcakes.  I have a feeling I’ll be taking a cab back.  It looks like the family is going to have to see The Little Mermaid without me – as sitting for that long is out of the question.

Re: Beginning my Colonix Treatment - mark - 08May08

Fri June 13 – 4th day

Weight: 213

It’s about 2pm and I’ve basically had the same routine (same routine?  … is that redundant?)

Yesterday, after my single turkey meatball lunch, I had a few ounces of roasted chicken.  I thought it was a little snack before dinner – but I never got hungry and did not eat anything else.  I steeped the tea for 20 minutes and did not use any Stevia (just to make sure that the Stevia was not screwing up the tea – but I noticed no difference).

I could not sleep - but finally fell to sleep at 1am.  I woke up at 6am feeling the need to go to the bathroom – but I managed to fall back to sleep until 7am when I had a normal BM.

Took the pills, drank the fiber, ate some nuts.  And now I'm off to my daughters school for her b-day cupcakes.  That will be my lunch.  Oh, I better take the before lunch pills.

It’s highly unlikely that I’ll post over the week-end.

Re: Beginning my Colonix Treatment - mark - 08May08

Tuesday June 17– 8th day

Weight: 213

Continuing from Friday afternoon…… I do not recall my dinner, but I fell a sleep without drinking the tea and did not have a BM Saturday first thing.  A few hours later I went but it seemed to be half the amount and I felt slightly constipated.  I did everything the same but did go to a wedding on Saturday night and had a few drinks, a bunch of shrimp cocktail, various appetizers and then salad, fish and rice for dinner.  I had to get some sleep and forgot the tea again.

On Sunday, I ate a few nuts during the day and for dinner I had some Wonton Soup, noodles, a dumpling, a piece or broccoli, chicken and pork.  I drank the tea before bed.

On Monday, I had a nice BM in the morning, a few nuts during the day and fried chicken breast with broccoli for dinner.  I had the tea.

Tuesday, it’s about 2:30 now, I’ve had a handful of nuts and some sliced ham.

It’s interesting how my weight has not dropped more.  I think my body is likely to be in starvation mode and when I combine this with the decreased activity from the herniated disks – it makes sense.  But my activity is beginning to return to normal and I believe the weight should begin to fall off.

Re: Beginning my Colonix Treatment - mark - 08May08

Wednesday June 18– 9th day

Weight: 208

Errrrrr.  I lost five pounds in one day?  I was active.

Anyway, it’s 7pm – I had a chicken caesers for lunch instead of next to nothing as I was with a client.  I plan on having a meat ball for dinner.

The only thing I really did different was sipping the tea over like an hour - and I felt more cramping this morning.  Perhaps I was just drinking it too quickly before.  I’ll drink it slow tonight and fast tomorrow to see if I notice a difference.

Re: Beginning my Colonix Treatment - mark - 08May08

Thurday June 19– 10th day

Weight: 204 - dropped another 4 pounds - that's 9 pounds in 2 days - can't be good.  I better eat a bit more.  I have been a bit hungry but nothing crazy

Last night I ended up drinking the tea quickly (10 minutes) and had no cramps.

With the end of the school year - it's been very busy and I just forgot to eat.  I had some nuts at noon and then a piece of chicken cutlet.  At a dinner picnic, I had a half dozen chicken wings, nuts and a big strawberry.

It's 10:30 PM - I'll sip the tea for the next half hour and call it a day.

Re: Beginning my Colonix Treatment - mark - 08May08

Friday June 20 – 11th day

Weight: 203 - steady

So, I sipped my tea and went to sleep.
Woke up in the morning, no major cramping but lose movement.
I ate a lot more than I have been – between lunch and dinner: chicken cutlets (3), meatballs (2), nuts (a few handfuls), and a bowl of berries with some light whip cream.
I start physical therapy for the disk soon.

It's 10:20 so I'll take the last two pills and get the tea ready.

Day 18.  It's been a week - nothing major to report except I've been eating more and my weight is still 203.  I'll make a push to get below 200 next week.

Re: Beginning my Colonix Treatment - mark - 08May08

Thanks Rich.

Thursday July 3 – Day 24

Weight: 201

I'm posting early as it's a long week-end.

I had a few nights out this week - so it was tough to keep the weight down.  Week-ends are also tough.  Besides the nights out, I've really limited my food intake.  I have no plans to start eating again - besides feeling weak, the night out or some special events.  My weight goal is 170.  Crazy stuff, considering I was pushing 250 a few months ago.  I haven't been 200 in ten years, and I still feel gross.  My goal for the end of this program (two more months) is 180.

Have a great fourth all!

Re: Beginning my Colonix Treatment - mark - 08May08

Day 31

Another week.  I'm 199 (I have not been below 200 in ten years).  The holiday week-end was tough with all the parties - and I definitely indulged.  I feel great and tend to only eat one "regular" meal a day.  Sometimes it's a salad with roasted chicken, others it a night out - Mexican, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, steaks, Italian.  I try to keep the carbs down.  I still eat the raw nuts and berries in between.   The plan has me stopping the tea for a few days.  We'll see if anything happens.

I have been reading about CRON.  Lots to learn.

Good to see your progress...I haven't been on much this busy summer so trying to catch up on  the progress of all who are posting. Looks like things are steady for you even if not as fast as you might like...hope the back will progress with the physical therapy, and perhaps some massage therapy, too!  smile

Re: Beginning my Colonix Treatment - mark - 08May08

I stopped for about a week and lost control.  My appetite came back strong.  I gained 10 lbs in a week.  I started the program again a few days ago and my appetite is gone.  I use to think it was the fiber – but I think it might be the tea that's killing my appetite.  I’m not sure how “clean” I’m getting as I was pretty toxic and I’ve seen nothing unusual in the toilet – besides the fiber fluffing things up.  I’ll work though the rest of my supplies and see if I can figure out what is suppressing my appetite.  I’m back to 205.
