Diet while Cleansing

One of the reasons I decided to try this program was that it did not require me to dramatically change my diet.  The information on the website says that "no particular diet is needed for these programs to work" ... so I assumed that no stringent modification was necessary.

I eat a pretty well balanced diet now ... lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, salmon, chicken and other fish but do enjoy an occasional burger or steak.  My intake of coffee and alcohol is limited.

I am interested in knowing what, if any, modifications anyone else did to their diet for this program.  I am on day 2 and have not modified my diet at all ... with the exception of no coffee for the past 2 days .. this was not intentional .. just didn't feel like having any.

I have also had a nagging headache for 2 days as well .. not sure if I got too much sun yesterday or if this is related to the program ... I am only doing the Colonix now ... will see what the results of that are and then will think of moving on to the toxinout.

Re: Diet while Cleansing

The headache could be in part the program, too much sun and dehydration and perhaps no coffee for two days. Even in limited amounts the body seems to notice its absence and the lack of caffeine can trigger headaches in some people.

Re: Diet while Cleansing

I've gone without coffee before so I am doubtful that that is the cause of my headache... but nonetheless ... it isn't the headache that I am questioning really ... it is whether anyone taking this program did so without changin their diet at all.

Re: Diet while Cleansing

Well, I confess we didn't really make any changes. My husband and I are both great water drinkers so that was easy and we do have fresh fruit and vegetables in our normal diet. However, we found that as a result of the Colonix program we drank less coffee, craved less sugar and found that we lost a tolerance for some processed foods. Things we use to be able to eat were so distasteful we couldn't eat them anymore...like the processed meat and cheese kits so common around the holidays.

I'm not suggesting it was the wisest approach but we still got great benefits from the program. I'm not a big meat eater anyway but my husband found he could eat less and feel content. If your body isn't sharing its nutrition with parasites or feeding yeast it has opportunity to gain benefit from the nutrition you are getting. I hope you do well with the program.

Re: Diet while Cleansing

Make sure you are drinking enough water and that you are eliminating. Headaches are common on the cleanse but not for the duration. When releasing toxins from the body it is normal that it reacts in some way.
For me my skin broke out and I was ill for one day only and when I recovered 3 days later I eliminated parasites. Half way through the cleanse I started to change what I ate just because I didn't crave or desire certain things. My need for fatty foods was totally eliminated. I started eating more whole foods and fresh fruits and less meats.

I hope you are doing well on the program - keep us informed.

Re: Diet while Cleansing

Today is day 15 and so far nothing has changed drastically ... my headache is gone ... I think it might have been too much sun or perhaps a combination of things ... my elimination was usually right after breakfast but is now before and sometimes after as well ... I don't feel empty after though ... no odd or scary eliminations like are described on this and the dr natura website so I guess I'm stuck in a holding pattern ...I did read one testimonial where results did't happen until 5 weeks in ... I'll continue with the program faithfully and see what happens ..... one huge benefit though is that  I am sleeping A LOT better and that in itself is a bonus ...

I really find it odd to read that some people have stopped the program midway because they are too busy ... taking tablets in the moring followed by a fibre drink and then some tea at night certainly does not time consuming to me .. nor has it been for me... I researched colon cleansing for quite awhile before choosing this one and I think it has got to be the easiest and mildest on the market...

Re: Diet while Cleansing

I have to agree with you about the ease of taking the colonix cleanse. I have tried other forms of elimination / cleansing routines and some of them are very strict and hard to follow. I was on a cleanse for 14 days and was limited in what I could eat and ended up being constipated for 7 days.  It was extremely painful and difficult. With any herbs time must be given for them to really work and be effective. It is not an overnight miracle pill. You are doing a great job in being consistant and giving it the time needed to work for you. Keep up the great work.

Re: Diet while Cleansing

One odd thing that I've been experiencing for the past week (at least that I've noticed) .. I feel like I have something stuck in my throat .. I've looked down my throat using using a flashlight and the bathroom mirror and an 'aw' stick and can't see anything .. but it still feels like something is there ... Has anyone else has this experience?

When swallowing the paranil capsules are you ensuring that you are drinking enough water after it? Also with the fiber you also need to make sure you are drinking alot of water after. But this is not a usual symptom. If it persists call the help desk maybe they have a solution.

Re: Diet while Cleansing

The feeling of having somethiing stuck in my throat is not from the paranil tablets as I make sure I drink a full glass of water after and I have that sensation both before and after I take the tablet.  I actually called th help desk and was advised that it is not a normal side affect.  They suggested that it may be the full feeling caused from the fibre ... but I didn't think it was  because I didn't feel full in my throat just like something was stuck ... I mentioned this to a friend of mine and she said that she gets that type of feeling when her neck is out of alignment and she needs to see the chiropractor ... she suggested that might be the problem ... I went to see the chiropractor and he agreed that that might be the problem ... he snapped, krackelled and popped me and I must admit it does feel better.. I think perhaps the timing with the colonix was coincidental.

Re: Diet while Cleansing

Fyzer,
Great to hear that it was only an alignment problem. Good to know should someone else experience something similar.
