Are the Isagenix supplements a scam / waste of money?

How does everyone feel about the Isagenix product line? Are Isagenix supplements a scam or are they effective? I'm curious to find out if this cleanser is a waste of money...

Thanks everyone,

Phil

Re: Are the Isagenix supplements a scam / waste of money?

It's hard to find people who use Isagenix and are not "biased" because it works! And when you find something that works consistently for many people you become biased! I just returned from an Isagenix Conference in Las Vegas! The products are amazing and the business model is fabulous. Isagenix is the fastest growing Health & Wellness company in the world and their commitment is to raise the health & wealth of this planet. So far they are doing just that, with over $400 million is sales and 18 millionaires in just 5 years in business. This cellular cleanse is all about getting rid of cellullar impurities that make us sick and fat & renourishing our cells with assimable nutrients. Get rid of the bad stuff, get in the good stuff & watch what your body can do! Healthy people are not fat, sick, tired, depressed or insomniac! It is very safe & very effective, total nutrition. Give it a try......Personally I have lost over 35 pounds & feel 20 years younger! I am a holistic nurse practitioner & have never endorsed any products until now.

Re: Are the Isagenix supplements a scam / waste of money?

Hopefully someone checks this...I have used Isagenix myself.  Our chiropractor normally doesn't sell items at his location but decided to because he had wonderful results on this product.  What surprised me was that he used the product, he is the picture of fitness.  But he said even he felt better after using it.  Being that he has taken such great care of us over the years I decided to try it.  I have struggled with weight issues since I was 10.  This product has to date helped me lose 55 pounds.  The other thing that I have gained which was surprising is other things started to function better.  I was told at 17 that I would not be able to have children since my body wasn't functioning correctly.  I have today been married for 11 and a half years, up until a year and a half ago never had I even had a scare of being pregnant.  yes up until a year and a half ago.  I haven't had a successful pregnancy for the fact my body is still working on correcting it's long time problems, but I who was told no children have children in my future now.  That is a gift that no diet plan has ever given me.  Some say loosing weight helps you get pregnant.  Then maybe they can explain when I was 19 years old, less weight the I am now, more fit, much younger...why not then?  Why 11 years later? When I am over 30 and have done diets since 19 but have only gained rather then lost and held my weight loss for over a year.  Being pregnant the two times I wasn't focused on loosing weight, but keeping my weight steady.

Isagenix has been a miricale for me and a number of others, everyday people.  It is worth every penny and more.  If you ever want to feel like you did when you were 18 - 25 try Isagenix.  I don't sell the stuff but I use it everyday and will use it for the rest of my life.

Re: Are the Isagenix supplements a scam / waste of money?

Hi all,

Are the Isagenix programs a scam? a waste of money? Well I can only go by my expeirience. What is my health and wellbeing worth and compare that to results. I know my health was in great need, I was 400 lbs! So I was in grave danger of risking everthing in my life. I needed to make a tranformation. What was I willing to spend or give up to do it? I only new it wouldn't do anyone any good in a pine box! So I was willing to spend some money to get some results. I didn't really know much about Isagenix I just felt that I could actually do it without much difficulty. I know it had to be easy! I know now there is no waste of money for sure IF you stay with it, IF you make a way for Isagenix to be part of your life. You have to be part of the solution, Isagenix will only work if you USE it. Now compare results to the money. My result have been nothing short of phenominal. I know results vary and everyone is different and there are variables. I started March 10th 2007 and today Oct 23rd 2007 I weigh 245lbs. Remember I started at 400 lbs, I have lost 155 lbs and see amazing results daily and it is not all about the weight! Energy and mobility and so many little things are the miricale. To me Isagenix is a reality it has proven it's worth in so many ways. So is it a scam? ... NO it's a reality... is it a waste of money? ... NO Not to me, it has completly changed my life, you only need to discover that for yourself! Money Back , No Questions asked Guarenteed!

Re: Are the Isagenix supplements a scam / waste of money?

I can say that the products are the real thing.  I have been on the products for about 7 months and must say that I have never felt better and I have lost 40 lbs to date and shed over 74 inches over my total body.

I believe in the product so much that I became an associate and am telling everyone I know about this miracle product.

Re: Are the Isagenix supplements a scam / waste of money?

First of all, I am a little concerned about the way some people discuss this product in almost cult-like fashion. It makes me wonder if there are mind-control drugs in this stuff, but most likely it's a money thing (it always is). It's like the new Amway.

I have tried to use this product twice now based on "testimony" by people I actually know (my ex-chiropractor, who happens to sell this stuff). Both times it made me sick as a dog. I saw it suggested that this is normal as the body "de-toxifies". Well, your body de-toxifies constantly. This type of reaction is what your body does to poison. Think about it, I would feel the same way if I drank a cup of Chlorox, granted without the severe burning.

Secondly, drastic immediate weight loss is not healthy. How can you tell? Because severely ill people lose weight drastically. People with cancer lose weight drastically. I myself can lose 30 pounds in two weeks when I have had clinical depression. That should tell you something. Your body builds fat to keep you alive when food is scarce. It should not want to lose it so rapidly.
There is no secret to weight loss. It is like a check book. Make large deposits (eating calories) and the balance goes up. Make smaller deposits and more withdrawals (excerise) and the balance goes down. I was able to lose 25 pounds safely and fairly slowly by simply not eating as poorly. When I started to pig out again, I gained it back. Not rocket science.

Looking at the cleansing stuff, it's mostly pounding serious B6 and B12 and some potassium. You could probably take a heavy B vitamin complex and eat a banana and get the same result. What's causing you to lose weight is the fact that you're starving yourself. Doing the 9-day program as suggested provides insufficient calories and that's why you're losing weight. Pounding water has shown to have no benefit other than to make you pee a lot and not notice that you're starving.

As far as feeling better, you'll feel better with less weight no matter how you get there. The rest, I believe, is a placebo effect, and that's fine, I guess. As for me, I have been feeling better ever since I stopped having my head wrenched and being put on a rack and practically decapitated week after week, except for the apparently permanant click in my neck that wasn't there before.

Bottom line, if you use this stuff and don't change your eating habits, you'll gain all the weight right back again. There's better, safer ways to lose weight, but you actually have to work at it, not just throw money at the problem.

Re: Are the Isagenix supplements a scam / waste of money?

I have just begun my Isagenix program along with my spouse yesterday.  I will try to report our progress here for all to see.  I have never been on a "diet" before and this is an attempt to lose about twenty pounds on my part and about onehundred pounds for my spouse.  One thing is for certain, it is definitely not just a bunch of vitamin B and Potassium as previous member, notsold has indicated.  The products, (four various products taken on a daily basis and one taken during cleanse days) contain a whole range of nutrients and minerals which your body needs.  Whey protein, Calcium caseinate and low heat, nonfat dry milk are the top three ingredients in the shake powder.  I think this concept is a very interesting one because it is laid out very plain and simple.   Getting your nutrition from a few skakes and a couple of gel caplets every day leaves so much time for other things in life.  As on member put it, it's not complicated the only decision you need to make when you're on the Isogenix Nutritional Cleasing program is whether you are going to have a vanilla flavoured or chocolat flovoured shake.  All the rest is taken care of.  I would recommend trying the program once and deciding from there on.  If you choose to not continue, at lest you have tried it once.  If it turns out to be the most effective, best life-changing decision you have ever made, what dollar value can one attach to that?

Re: Are the Isagenix supplements a scam / waste of money?

I am a bit skeptical with how isagenix differs so greatly from other cleansing programs that require minimal caloric intake and supplement with shakes (or similar).

Of those that have  responded to this and other threads regarding Isagenix, which responders are now financially benefitting from endorsing the product?  I am trying to figure out which comments are not financially motivated versus an unbiased opinion.

Re: Are the Isagenix supplements a scam / waste of money?

I was skeptical too -trust me. My girlfriend told me about it, I am not overweight, I am very healthy, I work out a lot! For me, it didn't seem necessary. She is very into health and natural foods. She said she would pay for my first month - she really loved it.  I told my boyfriend about it who wants to lose 20 pounds so he said he wanted to try it. I said I would do it too for support AND to see what would happen to my body. Most women have cellulite EVEN if they work out. We are four days in and it has been great, I have more energy, I have slept really well. I feel cleaner, and I hope it's not my imagination, but my cellulite looks better. My boyfriend said I look great and I said "It's only been 4 days, it can't be that different."

I can keep you posted, I already notice him looking better. I will say this, I am following it exactly as it is recommended, I am eating lunch and having a shake for dinner. He is doing a shake at lunch and eating an early dinner. We are keeping track of everything we eat and got rid of all the junk out of the house.

The Isagenix products are made from very high quality ingredients (all plant based and New Zealand whey Protein, which is the highest form of whey protein you can get) All I can say is I was a skeptic too, but I had nothing to lose...you use all your products you get and they taste great!!

Good luck!! I do recommend it and I am not making any money on it YET - but I may choose to go that route !!

Re: Are the Isagenix supplements a scam / waste of money?

I am on Day 2 which is a "cleanse" day. This program basically feels like a huge waste of money. You are pretty much paying to starve yourself. On the "cleanse" days, all you drink is 4 half cups of juice and eat 6 little wafers and 2 pills. It equals less than 300 calories in that day. I think all the positive testimonials are from people who got roped into selling this product.

I have been using Isagenix (for 10 days now) and I don't own a scale, but I don't think  I have lost any wieght   I had a head ache after the first day, my headache lasted 4 days.  I am not sure why but it was a doosey.  Is this a scam, possilby, but that my own personal opinion.  I will finish off the product that I have here and then go from there.  I will keep you posted.

Re: Are the Isagenix supplements a scam / waste of money?

I am just finishing my 3rd Isagenix cleanse (30 day).  The first 2 cleanses were 9 day and so far, I prefer the 30 day.  I really like their products and I have found they do work.  The shakes are a great meal replacement and my energy has increased.

If you are going to do a cleanse, follow what they tell you.  I don't see any point in trying one if you smoke (and don't plan to stop), drink heavily, or are not planning to change your eating habits and increase your exercise.

What I don't like about Isagenix is that it is a "pyramid" business and their sales people push, push, push.  I do all my own ordering online, which I suggest.  Just chatting with people, I have discovered how many people are selling the stuff.

Re: Are the Isagenix supplements a scam / waste of money?

I have been using the isagenix products since November.  I use the shake everyday for breakfast.  Some days I have one for lunch or dinner.  My schedule is crazy sometimes and its so easy to have one for lunch or dinner when you dont have a lot of time.  I lost 7 pounds and havent done any "cleanse" days.  I am 5' 2" and 135 lbs.  I still eat poorly sometimes i.e. wendy's.

I have found my energy level and brain function have gone up since november.  I also was working out before but have been able to see much greater results since and lost inches all over my body.

I have also used Dr. Natura's products but prefer Isagenix because they made me feel healthier.

Re: Are the Isagenix supplements a scam / waste of money?

I bought into the great Isagenix scam.My experience with Isagenix left me 60# heavier and hundreds of dollars lighter.
My reaction to the product was not very positive. I struggled immensely with the cleanse days, rarely being able to make it even to the second day. I had a chronic yeast infection (which I begged them for help with, only to be offered more product and advice that was virtually useless) a history of yoyo dieting and a desparate desire to make this "miracle" product work.
I shouldv'e followed my instincts from the beginning but was persuaded by the sucess of others on the team that I just needed to hang in and keep trying product. By the time I accepted that this product and the way it is marketed had triggered some pretty negative stuff for me, I was well past the 30 day refund date.
As far as I am concerned these people are vultures, waitng to prey on a very vulnerable  group.
It has taken me 5 months to get back on track physically and emotionally after my experience with this product. I guess the one positive aspect is I gained confidence to know I'll NEVER be sucked into a marketing scheme like this again.
My advice to anyone(especially Canadians who get dinged huge shipping costs and rediculous rates of exchange on our dollar) is to go to your local health food store and ask for advice. I took my Isagenix containers to my local store and had the owner show me ingredient by ingredient how Isagenix is actually inferior to and MUCH more expensive than similar products on her shelf.
If you are still in doubt what this company is really all about - go to one of their team meetings and pay attention to what is really going on - these people are primarily a marketing scheme. They have found a product that seems to have some measure of success and they have brilliantly figured out how to milk it for all it is worth.
If you go ahead and try it anyway, well all I can say is I hope you are one of those "success" stories Isagenix displays. If like me, you become one of their unadvertised "failures" - don't beat yourself up too badly, just remember some of my advice.

Re: Are the Isagenix supplements a scam / waste of money?

My impression of "shewhotransforms". I think that you are a probably a great person deep inside somewhere but that person is hidden deep under 3 main features that you now pocess and are controlled by:
1: - Total lack of self-discipline,
2: - Lack of willingness to commit,
3: - Very close-minded.
The issue with you is not about Isagenix really. I don't believe that you will use any product correctly and consistently enough for it to have a chance to work for you. From your writing, I got the impression that you are extremely overweight and unhealthy, probably because of your lack of self-discipline and you are too close-minded to see that. You are so unhealthy that you are alergic to too many things. Many of the Isagenix products are nothing more than fruit juices, extract of roots, herbs grains, etc., you are probably alergic to some or many of those things. It is not that Isagenix has bad products or is running a scam as you stated, the problem is you, your unhealthy mind and body. Am I trying to insult you? NO, I don't even know you. I hope that you see what I think I see from your writing. Maybe you can see yourself from the outside some day and be able to make positive changes in your life. It will take more than a trip to a health food store and purchase something else that you will not allow to work for you. You must make a serious commitment to take a strong action towards improvement. Whatever it take and however long it takes. It will take a lot longer that a day or a week or a month.
I have been eating the Isagenix products since the begining of this year and I can't believe the difference in my wellbeing, the way I feel, my stamina, etc. But at the begining I had to use discipline to stay away from the crap I was craving and was acustomed to. I think that my problem was mainly psychological but physical as well. The good thing about me is that I have strong will power and strong self-discipline, when I dicide something, it will be done. I don't crave the garbage I used to any more. I have been able to replace most of the time 2 meals with Isagenix products, 5 to 6 days a week, a day or 2 only one meal per day replaced. But I eat a lot of fruits, nuts and vegetables when I don't have access to my Isagenix products, I plan it that way ahead of time, it is part of my discipline. NO EXCUSES, NO B.S. Do not lie to yourself, Do not cheat yourself.
Isagenix products are great, NO scam there. I am not saying they are cheap, but they are good and I have paid for them partially by redirecting my spending. Again, part of that self-discipline. I am sure any body can do it, just make the commitment. Wheather it is Isagenix or something else. For me, Isagenix has been the best thing I have ever tried so far. Isagenix has many things to offer, not just the cleansing product called "Cleanse For Life". They have many, many, many NUTRITIONAL products - it is "SUPER FOOD".

Re: Are the Isagenix supplements a scam / waste of money?

In response to I_Love_Isagenix_Products -  Wow! You might do well to learn to check your impressions, because your three of me were pretty off base and actually fall more into the category of assumptions. I certainly hope you weren't trying to insult me, however even if you were I don't take it personally as your experience is totally a reflection of your own self.

I am going to make up a story about I_Love_Isagenix_Products - I predict that if this person isn't already selling product, they soon will be.
I again state to anyone out there looking at buying into Isagenix - I consider it to be a huge marketing scam - designed primarily to assist you in lightening up your bank account.

Re: Are the Isagenix supplements a scam / waste of money?

I have been using Isagenix for just over a year.  I've lost 40 pounds, kept it off, and love the products.  The customer service; not so much!

I am in sales and if my company ran customer service and shipping the way Isagenix does I would have lost half my customer base and my job.  Can you imagine a company (in Arizona no less); that cannot get an order out the door same day if it comes in after 9:00am in their own time zone??
Absolutely UNACCEPTABLE.

I'd like to switch to a product with better support.  Can anyone help me with that??

Re: Are the Isagenix supplements a scam / waste of money?

I purchased the 30 day Isagenix cleansing products and am into day 9. I have gained two pounds. I am completely disappointed and am hoping the company gives me my money back. The first two days were nothing but severe headaches. The following two days were fine but the cleanse day on the fifth day was painful. Not because I was hungry but because I was so tired I thought I was going to die. I was just paralyzed. This is day 9 and I am not hungry but there is no results and for me personally it is a scam. I have eaten under 1000 calories a day and gained two pounds. There must be something in the accelerator pills. I won't even eat their snacks they taste like chocolate flavored hay. I would rather eat food for the 1000 calories than drink shakes and take pills. Ohhh, when I emailed the company to tell them about my complaint...NOTHING! Not really supportive of their clients. It is multilevel marketing and I am not going to do well for their business if anyone knows I gained weight doing what they say to do. Good luck.
YES IT IS A SCAM!
