Symptoms:
Frequent fatigue and low energy - yes, diminishing energy during last 5 years
Flatulence, gas & bloating - yes
Excess weight - yep..
Impaired digestion - sometimes
Irritability, mood swings - absolutely
Bad breath & foul-smelling stools - kind of...
Recurring headaches - no, thank God
Constipation - not really
Protruding belly ("pooch") - not yet, but would get there if nothing is done :-)
Powerful food cravings - yes, and hate them
Skin problems - minor, but persistent

Re: Starting the Quest, September 09/2009

Update, DAY 1

Heroics of the day: to speed things up did 40mins/400kcal on the bike, 15 mins in sauna.
Weight: 215

Status report on BMs: Didn't have a single BM all day. Zip. Nothing. Not the slightest of N-Ps (Nano-Poops). It is unusual for me, since I usually get 1-2 BMs per day. It must be lining up for SGO (Spectacular Grand Opening) scheduled at a later date. Will take P&T (Patience and Time), which I both have.

Re: Starting the Quest, September 09/2009

Thank you.

Update, DAY 2

Number of BMs: 3 (which is what I would expect considering yesterday's draught)
BM Specs: nothing extraordinary, same old thing
Misc: mild headaches for most of the day
Deviation from the plan: couple of beers and huge..ish ice-cream :-)

Re: Starting the Quest, September 09/2009

Update, Days 3&4

Number of BMs: usual
BM Specs: same
Misc: did my usual stunt today (40min/420kcal bike + 15 min sauna)
Concerns: so far have found the tea quite fine; just wondering whether 450 bucks for 3-month supply of tea (the other stuff has shown no value so far) isn't a bit too steep :-)

$450?!

I noticed that the prices have dropped since I ordered a couple of months ago too.

Re: Starting the Quest, September 09/2009

Update, Days 5-9

Number of BMs: usual, 2-3 per day
BM specs: same, nothing special, nothing strange
Misc.: Started Toxinout as well. The only change is that urine which used to be colorless (possibly due to large amounts of water pushed through the system) is yellow again. Toxins washed out or just some ingredients of the Toxinout stuff?

Re: Starting the Quest, September 09/2009

Update, Days 10-21

Number of BMs: 2-3 per day
Specs: Same old stuff
Weight: 210, yes, going down. Well, 11 capsules of who-knows-what a day must be helping to keep the appetite down a notch, don't they?
Misc: nothing, absolutely nothing strange. Maybe it is only meant for someone who has been neglecting his/her body for a really long time? Maybe you first have to go on an "american diet" for a few decades to witness the miracle of this program???

I don't know. My husband used to have such a sweet tooth and often got extra stuff when we ate yet it didn't help him either and he deals with constipation a lot.

Re: Starting the Quest, September 09/2009

Hi Duke, nice update.  I have some questions about how you are doing the program, if you don't mind.  Are you taking the recommended portions?  I see that you started the Toxinout early and I have no idea if this is good or bad.  Like your self, I haven't had the headaches and cramps and the BMs so far seen mostly normal.  You're right, the tea really tastes good.  Do you feel any increase in energy or anything else that would indicate that this is helping?

I still don't know how to determine if the program is a success or not.  I'm sure that not everyone is going to have such spectacular results like in the photos.  I guess I'll just have to get through the full 120 days and then make the final deterimination.  Days 91-120 are Toxinout only.
I sure hope that I bought into something that really works.  So far I don't have a good track record.

Nice link to the squatting article.  I breezed through it and didn't read every line.  I do remember from child days that squatting was good for you.  I don't see the U.S. swapping all the toilets out in the near future, at least not in the time I have left.  Besides, I don't know if I could even get up from the position.  Maybe if we were good at doing that, we wouldn't be doing this?

Re: Starting the Quest, September 09/2009

So I thought. My recent post, containing link to the squatting article has been deleted. They only tolerate colon cleansing links here. Well, we all know how it works. This is CCF (Colon Cleansing Fascism).

Old Dog - the only change I've had, I've been losing weight, but that was what I set out to do anyway. Other than that, it is same old... stuff :-)) My diet hasn't been that awful for the past 10 years, but I'm sure I'm full of toxins anyway. I have no idea this will be any help. only hope won't do harm :-)))

You are right, the link and post are gone.  I was just lucky to get it between cleansings.

What about squatting and toilets?

I do squats in the gym, my PT strongly recommends them. =P

Re: Starting the Quest, September 09/2009

Man, like his fellow primates, has always used the squatting position for elimination. Infants of every culture instinctively adopt this posture to relieve themselves. Although it may seem strange to someone who has spent his entire life deprived of the experience, this is the way the human body was designed to function.

Seven Advantages of Squatting

   1. Makes elimination faster, easier and more complete. This helps prevent "fecal stagnation," a prime factor in colon cancer, appendicitis and inflammatory bowel disease.

   2. Protects the nerves that control the prostate, bladder and uterus from becoming stretched and damaged.

   3. Securely seals the ileocecal valve, between the colon and the small intestine. In the conventional sitting position, this valve is unsupported and often leaks during evacuation, contaminating the small intestine.

   4. Relaxes the puborectalis muscle which normally chokes the rectum in order to maintain continence.

   5. Uses the thighs to support the colon and prevent straining. Chronic straining on the toilet can cause hernias, diverticulosis, and pelvic organ prolapse.

   6. A highly effective, non-invasive treatment for hemorrhoids, as shown by published clinical research.

   7. For pregnant women, squatting avoids pressure on the uterus when using the toilet. Daily squatting helps prepare one for a more natural delivery.

Hey Duke, are you continuing on the program?  Write an update and let us know how things are progressing.  Like yourself, I'm not seeing Academy Award results  but surely you must be seeing something good.  No?

Good Luck.

Re: Starting the Quest, September 09/2009

Hey, O.D.! Can't say I am seeing anything spectacular..my weight is down to 205 (started out at 218), so at least the program is not getting in my way in that respect :-)

To be honest, after about 35 days I took a 2 week break and now I am 12 days into it again.. I wasn't seeing anything peculiar from what was advertised, not seeing still. I must admit, here in Spain there isn't much in the diet you could clog your pipes with.. everything passes through smooth as a goose (as put by Cosmo Kramer) :-))

Still 1-3 BM every day, everything seems to pass through within 24 hours. Business as usual. I try to squat when I can. Good to know you're doing good for your long term health.

I will try to get through the program one way or another, can't do no harm, I reckon. Still looking forward to lose 10 more pounds.

Re: Starting the Quest, September 09/2009

Thanks for the information on squatting, now that you mention it makes sense but I've never realized it. Hmm... I will work on doing more squats in the gym since obviously our toilets aren't made for that. smile
