Trucker

I am a 43 year old trucker.  I eat absolutely terribly because all there is to eat at the truck stops are Wendy's. McDonalds. etc....  So you can see that it is extremely hard to eat properly out here on the road.  Growing up I was ALWAYS active.  I did every sport under the sun and after I graduated I joined the Army so I remained active.  But since getting out of the Army and start trucking I have put on some serious weight.  I am 6 ft tall and currently 280 lbs.  My legs and and arms are what I call "normal" but my belly..... I look like I am nine months pregnant.  I drive for 11 hours a day and after that I still sit in the truck.  I get NO exercise at all.  Here is the bad part.  I poop maybe once a day and there are many times when I poop only once every few days.  I feel tired all the time, bloated etc... I did sign up at a gym and even hired a private instructor but I really think I need to clean out my body.  Any suggestions on what products are good?  Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I would like to lose this weight so I can actually go on a date.  Being fat women do not even want to talk to me and I can not blame them.

Re: Trucker

Hey Digger,

One of the biggest things that you need to work on is obviously your diet. Even though you're on the road, there are still healthy choices that you can make.

For instance, a footlong grilled chicken sub on whole wheat from Subway with all the veggies (and without dressing, mayo, etc.) is a great choice that will give you some fiber, vegetables, and protein. It's a great option for eating on the road -- and at $5 you can't beat it.

Drink water at every meal and avoid soft drinks, milkshakes, etc.

If you're a coffee drinker, drink it black without cream and sugar.

Do you have a mini fridge in your truck? If so, you can stock it with some healthy snacks before you hit the road such as carrot sticks, whole wheat bagels, etc.

Hope this helps!
