Swallowing a Spice Rack

My husband and I received our program yesterday. Upon checking out he noted the pills and powder smelled familiar- I thought they resembled the scents in our spice rack!

The horse pills weren't too bad but the (banana-flavored?!) powder was different. My husband is used to Citrucil and Miralax, plus as a big guy is able to chug when needed. Not I. Despite the fact that I took large gulps quickly, before I was finished it thickened causing me to gag. (Ew.) After a failed second attempt we re-mixed it with orange juice and I was able to get it down. yikes

He reassured me that it was thicker than what he was used to, but I'll definetely be using juice from now on. Meanwhile, I feel like I've swallowed a spice rack!

Re: Swallowing a Spice Rack

P.s.

Two questions...

One, the pamphlet said something about "recipes" for mixing the powder on the website, but I don't see any suggestions outside of what the pamplet provides.

Second, the note about (Never use water heated in a microwave oven because this can destroy the effectiveness of the herbs in the tea.) Is this referring to heating your water in the microwave with the tea bag? My husband and I have always heat the water and then place the tea bag in afterwards so this didn't make sense to us.

Thanks!

Re: Swallowing a Spice Rack

Still haven't found any receipes to speak of. We have tried water (don't recommend it) as well as: orange juice (light and low acid), V8 blend, pomegranate-cranberry, and even Arizona green tea. Sometimes there are still clumps but even I've gotten used to it, but ya gotta stir, stir, stir!!!

I am debating trying a couple of things, such as mixing it in a pudding cup or mixing a scoop into 8oz of Jello.

As far as the water goes, I did find the answer. Apparently microwaving water as opposed to heating it on the stove changes the molecular structure of water somewhat. Yeah, weird.

Oh yeah, we started to worry a little about the tea containing senna as a lot of medical sites advise not using it for 7 days in a row, but the Nature CS stated it was such a small amount blended with so many herbs that the warning wasn't applicable.

Nothing else extraordinary to report.

Glad to hear that about the tea, I was starting to worry myself after doing some research.  Thanks so much for the update.

Re: Swallowing a Spice Rack

Nothing phenomenal yet. My husband still struggles a bit with constipation and I was dealing with the other extreme for a while; Natura's CS told me to continue steeping my tea only 30sec as opposed to 1-2 minutes. My husband was up to 6min but the cramping got so bad and didn't get much results so he's stepped down to steeping 3 minutes.

On the plus side, I'm quite used to drinking the fiber. My preferred drink is light OJ.

I haven't been adventurous yet with mixing it in pudding or Jello. I'm interested in trying it out more from curiousity than necessity. wink

Re: Swallowing a Spice Rack

Yesterday we completed our 3rd week of Colonix and are on our second box.

No mucus ropes or dead parasites. I must say, the "gentle reminder" is not so but more of an immediate visit is needed.

I have also discovered why senna is used for 'diet' teas. It helps whip food through you so fast so as to not absorb as many calories. My main problem with this is, it seems to affect only vegetables which are the calories and nutrition that you need.

Whatever you do, don't steep the tea too long. The results are painful. hmm

Re: Swallowing a Spice Rack

After today my husband and I can take a 5-day break from the Paranil pills and tea. Yay!

Although we are still disappointed in lack of results. Not just what I noted last week but also we have not had increased energy. So far the only "result" we have both noted is increase in smell. Bleh!

Although following directions exactly he is still often constipated, despite steeping for 8 minutes. Usually a lot of gas and little elimination. At first it seemed sometimes like new stuff was pushing out old stuff (the stools were half dark and half light) but that only lasted the first week or so; now everything looks recent and normal.

By following directions I do mean exact. Pills first thing when we wake up and the fiber (which is not bad at all now) 15 minutes later. Tea before bedtime. Neither of us drink soda and we are fasting for a year from coffee/hot chocolate. Water is not a problem and we monitor how much so as not to exceed 10 glasses a day. We've even been calling Natura CS on a weekly basis with our concerns. Although they are friendly and helpful, the advice does not seem to be helping much.

We will finish the 3-month supply (1&1/2 each) just in case, but unless there is improvements then we will not be ordering another 3-month supply. sad

Re: Swallowing a Spice Rack

Thanks for sharing your experience! I'm sorry you didn't get the results you hoped for. If your husband is still fighting constipation, was it suggested that he use half the amount of fiber until it normalizes? Some have found that helpful.

Also, I find the fiber mixes easier to put in a container with a lid and shake it.

It's too bad you don't have enough product to complete two full months...sometimes it takes some a little longer to see other changes. Personally, I think the intial cleanse should be two to three months. We have followed with month-long maintenance cleanses since then about once a year.
My husband still uses the fiber to help with his system. He has better results with it vs. OTC fibers. He does use some other dieter teas because they don't have cinnamon, which tends to give him heartburn.

Wish you both the best in your quest to better health! smile

Re: Swallowing a Spice Rack

No, it was not. But thank you so much, Laura, for making that suggestion! I will let him know to try that for a few days. We start steeping again very soon so it will be interesting to notice a change before then.

Using a fork seems to help me stir better to keep the fiber from clumping up. Who'd have guess?

I agree, I would like to try the product as long as possible but if its not working, then paying so much makes it more frustrating. Both my husband and I have no problem paying for an effective product, but if its not helping then I think we only have 2 months for the guarantee. But, here's hoping!

Thanks again for the input! Really appreciate it!

Re: Swallowing a Spice Rack

Well still no positive changes. In fact for the past couple of weeks we have not been having bowel movements in a timely fashion as claimed by the tea (3-10hrs). We normally have the tea at 10pm-11pm but might visit the restroom sometime early afternoon the next day.

My husband's dr took him off of Colonix. After a week I have had no further progress so I will stop the program myself. We have tried for over 40 days, which is almost a month and a half.

It was worth a try and I wish we had more success. I was very excited as Colonix was the first detox program either of us have tried before and so many people felt such a difference. I would still recommend anyone to try it because it might work for them!
