Started January 22nd

Hi everyone.
As subject line states, I started the cleanse on Jan 22nd. I am 28, female, pretty active (gym, hockey, yoga) and i tend to eat pretty healthy. I'm hoping to get rid of some typical IBS symptoms (bloating, sometimes constipation sometimes the runs, nausea..fun stuff.)

So far I have been drinking down the fiber with my morning protein shakes. I don't taste it at all so it's convenient. I'm having no problems with the water intake either. At first I would have to go to the bathroom all the time and now it seems I adjusted and I go at a more acceptable rate.

I'm on day 7 and can't say anything exciting has happened. I go once a day if that. The first few days were promissing because I had a lot of energy and would go a couple times a day.  I noticed it was softer and no straining but now it's just kidna like it was before I started the cleanse. I'm being patient but it's dissapointing because I don't feel that great...lots of stomach grumbling and bloated feelings.

I'll keep you in the loop.

Re: Started January 22nd

Still same thing for me after day 8...I'm drinking more water (over 2 litres) in case my body needs more but so far, when I go to the bathroom I just sit there hoping something will happen and nothing does except gas  and the constant full feeling..really sucks. I'll try steeping my tea for 5 minutes tonight. I was sticking to 3 minutes before because I heard that Senna tea can cause "lazy bowel" if you rely on it too much to stay regular. I still have occasional headaches too.

I'm taking the fibre with a protein shake (usually one banana, a handfull of berries , vanilla soy milk and a scoop full of isolate along with the fibre) ...could that somehow affect the program?

Re: Started January 22nd

Hi bettypoop.

Just a question for you, I'm also a pretty active female, I go to the gym 3 - 4 times a week, cardio and weights and I usually ski on the weekends. I haven't started this program yet, but I just wanted to know whether you have been able to continue working out while doing the colonix cleanse. That would be my biggest argument against doing the program, I'd like to continue my workouts. What's your opinion?

Good luck with your cleanse!

Re: Started January 22nd

Hi...
I haven't stopped my activities although it's always hard to motivate yourself to exercise when you feel bloated and full, which I have been feeling. But there's definately been no rushing to the bathroom for me. I have my fibre with my protein shake so that's not interfering either. Energy levels are so-so but I still push myself to go and feel better for it afterwards. But so far at Day 10, i'd say it's fine for my exercise routine. I think you're safe on that front.

Re: Started January 22nd

I appreciate you're answer, bettypoop.  I'm pretty excited about starting the program. Am contemplating March 1st as my start date. I just had to know if people can still hit the gym while doing this because exercise is pretty important for me. I see what you mean about feeling bloated and full, though.

Hope everythinig works out for you!

Re: Started January 22nd

DAY 12 - Nothing is happening...still feel gross and bloated. I am going to the bathroom once a day but there is straining and the portions are not that great so I stay feeling yucky. I had tried steeping the tea for 8 minutes and it didn't do anything. Last night, I didn't take any tea at all and this morning I went for a BM which was, again, small and not fufilling. So it seems the tea doesn't affect me. For this reason, I decided to take one lukewarm cup this morning after breakfast. I stepped it for 8 minutes again. I'm not sure why the program isn't working for me yet. Maybe I just have to wait, maybe the fact that I mix it in a protein shake messes us something? No clue. Will let you know if the morning cup of kleritea helped. I will end the month no matter what to ensure it's not just a matter of time, but if this doesn't get better, back to Dr.Natura the rest goes!

Re: Started January 22nd

I've heard that soy can mess with the effects of the fiber, so you might want to take that out of your protein shake, bettypoop, and see if that helps.  When I was on the plan, I personally steeped my tea for 15 minutes.  My body is stubborn.

Also make sure you are drinking enough water.  That part is very important!

Re: Started January 22nd

It's not soy..it's whey isolate. and yes.. .I'm drinking TONS. instead of the 8 glasses I'd say I'm drinking about 12-15. One thing I did change today was drink somewhere around 15 oz after the fibre. I think it actually helped...we'll see.

Re: Started January 22nd

Sorry, you said in your post "vanilla soy milk" so that's what I was going off of.  I'd suggest doing the fiber with nothing but juice to see if that makes a difference.

Re: Started January 22nd

Hi everyone...day...uhm...14 . I'm not feeling super bloated anymore but not feeling any better than when I started either. I changed the following:
- making sure I drink minimum 8oz right after my shake
- steeping my tea for over 10 minutes.

I never go to the bathroom in the morning. I actually wake up and try to go , hopiing the tea did something, and it never happens. Right now I only go about once a day and it's pretty normal..no straining but very average. I'm not complainaing, I'm just wondering why I'm taking Colonix at all since I don't see a difference.

I will try mixing the fiber with grape juice from now on. It's just a pain because I really want to have my protein too. Blah.

Re: Started January 22nd

Alright...Day 16. Nothing bad or good to report. Didn't have a significant BM today. Just pellet type things. I'm a rabbit all of a sudden apparently. Fun!
Energy is normal, gas more frequent than the norm for me, pee is still plentiful.
I'm taking the fibre with OJ now and drinking 8oz of water after.
I'm not sure what to do at the end of the month...should I continue in the hope something eventually happens or should I just get a refund?
To poo or not to poo. That is the question.

I stopped taking the tea. Screw it. Whether I take it or not I get the same results....which is: not much tongue

Re: Started January 22nd

Day 21 . OK so for the last three days, no tea. My trips to the bathroom are more regular now. I'm not sure if the tea is a necessary part of the cleanse but on the kleritea package it says it's a detox. Hmm. My body seems to be doing fine without it. I'm sleeping well and going to the bathroom an average of 1.5 times a day (heh heh..) so I'll stick to maybe having one tea a week or something.
I am NOT having weird BMS or notice any significant changes in my health. I'm always thirsty but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I have more gas, not sure why but it's manageable. Stomach isn't flatter or bigger... Not sure what the Paranil is doing either but I'll stick with it. Almost day 20 and nothing to report. I'm just glad I'm going again.

I started taking the fibre with OJ and mixed berries or banana. Not sure if it's a bad idea to mix with fruit but I need to mix protein too and just OJ with protein AND fibre is too much to take.

I still get the metallic taste once in a while.

Re: Started January 22nd

That's so weird, I felt like the tea worked too well for me.  If I steeped it more than a couple minutes, it made me go much earlier in the day than usual, and it was a lot looser than normal.  I guess everyone reacts differently!  tongue

Re: Started January 22nd

FWIW I feel like it's helped me... i'm only on day 16 I haven't passed anything too crazy but overall I have more energy, less lethargic, less anxiety/depression (I've been taking B vitamins also for this, so that may be it), AND I lost 2 pounds while I was eating like crap for a week and a half.

Re: Started January 22nd

Hi everyone, going on day 27 and nothing has happened yet...not that that will surprise you. They have been my results since the beginning. I am not taking the tea regularly. I only take it once or twice a week. I'm taking in the Paranil, fibre and water as directed however. I have a BM a day, which is alright, and I don't feel backed up anymore, so that's good too. I think just taking in normal psyllium fibre and water would have the same results. I didn't think I had parasites when I started so I'm not surprised nothing came out  of that. (heh heh)

I get the feeling that people that have IBS because of anxiety/stress/emotions can't be helped by colonix. Some have IBS after stomach/ulcer/surgery....so that's a different story. When I'm stressed I either get mild constipation or have diarrhea, and this hasn't changed. I don't think fibre is the cure.

To all of you starting: good luck and keep us in the loop!

From my experience, prepare to have smelly poos, more farts, wayyy more pees and a roller coaster ride of bloating and flatter stomach. smile

Re: Started January 22nd

onedog: I followed Dr.Natura's advice. I emailed them after I had not had a BM for 4 days. They told me to increase the tea steeping time, which I did gradually until it was well over 15 minutes. When that didn't work, they recommended modifying the fibre intake, which I did. The only thing that really worked was when I stopped taking the tea. So I stopped taking the tea. The program doesn't affect people in the exact same way. A LOT of people never have those weird BMs, I will be happy if it just makes me more regular.  Again, not saying it's DrNatura's fault. Just saying it's not a miracle cure for EVERYONE out there.

Re: Started January 22nd

Hello again:

I started the cleanse again but have gone without the tea for two weeks to see how it would go. It seems to be going well but I will start taking it 2-3 times a week to see if it makes a difference. I also took the one week break from the Paranil as suggested in the instructions. I'm now starting the second month and doing toxinout too. I'm on Day 35, so Day 5 of the second month of the plan. No weird poos again, but I'm not as bloated as the first time I did it. Will keep you in the loop.

Oh, I am now drinking the fibre with juice only. No more protein shakes for now.

ps: Watching LOST tonight...the plot thickens and thickens and thickens!

Re: Started January 22nd

I'm just finishing up my 2nd month.  I had the same frustrating moments as you have had.  It seemed for the first three weeks I was calling the Colonix #.  I continued with the product since it was already paid for.  They said to be patience and that sometimes, people have to customize the product to work for them.  I, like you, made a shake with my soymilk, but that seemed to not work.  I now use it with just plain water, not so great tasting, but it's down in about 5 seconds.  Also, chase that with another 8 oz. of water.  I eat only fruit for breakfast.  Grapes and an orange.  I also have a cup of coffe, but that doesn't seem to effect me.  Midday, I make sure I have a bowl of raisin bran with my soymilk.   For dinner, always try to eat your vegetable and limit your meat to not having red meat.

Also, during the time of having that constipation into week 2 and 3, I read on the internet where it was safe to add a greens product to the colonix.  I went to my local whole foods store and purchased Greens Super Foods.  It's vegetable fiber drink.  Boy did that work.   The bottle sayd 1-3 a day.  Only take 1 vegetable drink a day.  After two weeks of doing that, I know only take that every few days, as my system as adapted better to the colonix.

Another tip, steep tea for about 25 minutes, but drink slowly over the next 15 mins.  And also, do not drink more than 64 to 80 oz. of water.   If you do, you clean out the fiber that is attaching to the lining of your intestines and you will not have bowel movements the next day.  Remember, any water you exercise out or drink with your fiber shakes should not be included in your 64 oz.

Good luck and don't give up.  I feel great about my two months.  Will start my three months in about 7 days.

Re: Started January 22nd

I've read on some of the Testimonials on the Colonix website that some people didn't have any results until 5-7 weeks into the program but they perservered and before you know it they were experiencing the "flush" - hang in there and good luck.
