When you hit 50 you know things are different; body changes, lifestyles change, eating habits...
I made my shopping list for next week when I start my Colonix program. The posts are interesting here and I appreciate everyone's candid experiences and puns. My health has always been good except that I am a little overweight at 145. Just recently lost 10 by reducing carb intake and sugar. I enjoy my morning coffee, and occassionally green tea. My husband and I have reduced our red meat intake, but don;t want to give it up. I could become a vegetarian, but love meat too much to give it up entirely.
My bowel habits are daily and I have not had constipation problems that have lasted more than a few days or so. I have a massage every 3 weeks and feel much better for having the regularity of such a program. In my last session the masseuse found a tender spot on the arch of my foot. I asked him what that corresponded to on my body and he said the small intestine. I said that must mean that I am full of crap and need to do something about it!
My younger sis (age 46) has had colonix treatments done in a clinic and lives a very healthy lifestyle. She has shared her experiences with me. I have tried the Ultimate dual cleanse and liked that program. I thought this program would be more intensive so thought to give it a try.
I have 3 teenagers (meat eating boys) & a 21 yr old femaile in college (the vegetarian). Their systems are more efficient being younger and all. I think about the gunk that gets built up inside of us and that what comes out is smaller over time. So, it is time to more thoroughly clean out the tubes.
I plan to post progress here as a diary and won't be as long winded as this first post....but am excited to start something new that is also good for me. The girls at the office want to know all about the progress too....they said that if I left a meeting all the sudden, they would cover for me! I love Paige and Lauren..they are the best and they are next! Hehehe

Congrats on giving Colonix a try!
And A+ from me for getting those regular massages!
(I'm a massage therapist.) It's good to know that those who are busy caretakers take some time to care for themselves! Everyone benefits!
You mentioned your sister having Colonix treatments in a clinic setting. I've not heard of that before. Is it part of a larger regimen? Do they offer a variety of treatments? I hear of various clinics from some of my clients that have a whole person, natural health and wellness approach to health care. (Just curious.)
Wish you well with the program and we'll look forward to hearing about your experience (the good, the bad and the stinky!)![]()

Hi Laura,
My sister's colonics treatments are not Dr. Natura, but from a clinic where they 'Hoover" you out each time. She said that she could see shat was coming out in a window and that some parasites came out also. Terri has read about Chinese medicines and has a healthy diet and also exercise. I know that having healthy habits only makes us feel better. I just started exercising at a rec center with weights, cycle and swimming on alternate days.
A few years ago I went in to an Ayurvedic Doctor here in Virginia and had a full workup done on my health. What came back was a full lifestyle plan for my body type (Pitta-Vata) with diet, sleeping times, breathing exercises, and types of exercise best for me. Pretty cool stuff. I haven't tried yoga, but would like to sometime. The Indian foods are great with lentils & all kinds of veggies. I'm also a spice nut in the kitchen...
My work hours are from 0600 - 4 or 5 PM and sometimes on Saturdays. I ride around in a car most of the time and some early morning office time. I am an arborist and work with trees in a sales role, so love the outdoors. The stresses that go along with a sales job demand that you take good care of yourself so you can do well everyday. Hard work has paid off the past few years, so I am now managing my time better. All of this is connected to good health and the habits we choose.
It is nice to hear from you. I have enjoyed reading your posts to other newbies on this forum. Massage must be a fulfilling job for you because you are giving something good to others. I bit the bullet last year and bought a series of sessions. The regularity is important so you can enjoy the benefits. Drink water and feel great!! : )

It seems as though I have been taken in, that i am apparently possibly full of shit and gullable. Oh the irony! For it is not usually the gullable that are full of shit. Only the ones that prey upon the gullable are full of shit.
Here we go again, being an exception to the rule. Woe is me gullable and full of shit. So as i was saying SPAM ME BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ![]()

Hey Just50,
You're right. I love doing massage work and it's very satisfying on many levels. I work with people in many places in life and value that they allow me to work with them as they plod through life's challenges. I've learned a lot from them, too.
I realized the confusion I had regarding your sister's treatments. You wrote that she "has had colonix treatments done in a clinic" instead of colonic treatments. I didn't realize how close those words were. I am familiar with colonic irrigation and know there are benefits to it.
I've watched several episodes of "You Are What You Eat" which is on BBCA and records the progress of overweight people in the UK who are guided by a holistic doctor that is a nutritionist and sets them out on a new dietary and lifestyle regimen. She often refers them for colonics. (likely to their shock and horror) and often asks for "a sample of their poo" and then discusses what deficits are in their digestive tract based on color, consistency, smell, etc. She also takes blood samples and has them analyzed for vitamin deficiencies and does a tongue diagnosis as well. It's interesting the story our bodies can tell is someone is listening.
And speaking of listening to the body, I've just called one of my therapists because I'm long overdue for a good massage myself...
Look forward to hearing about your progress!
